The grant supports capacity building and educational videos to help Collier students develop resiliency and mental well-being
Charity for Change has received $32,500 in grants from the Collier Community Foundation. A $2,500 grant will bolster the charity’s capacity building, while a $30,000 grant helps students build the foundation of resiliency and mental well-being. Specifically, the larger grant supports the production of 20 new educational videos for elementary school-age students.
The grant funds new GiverTV videos, an interactive video component of the Charity for Change curriculum. The educational videos help students practice nine character traits: citizenship, perseverance, kindness, self-control, tolerance, responsibility, integrity, cooperation, and respect.
The videos engage at-risk students as contributing members of their communities. Students will experience how they affect positive change for the benefit of others, building their resiliency and mental well-being.
“We are grateful to the Collier Community Foundation for the generous support of our video initiative which gives children the tools they need to build resiliency and mental well–being,” said Karen Conley, founder and CEO of Charity for Change. “Studies consistently demonstrate that nurturing the emotional well–being of young learners not only enhances their academic performance, but also equips them with valuable skills to navigate their emotions and develop positive relationships.”
